In the 5th minute Claudinho Cearense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anier Sayvion saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of BOA VISTA E.C. booed when Vanderslaike FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bengt-Arne Stor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ramón Madureira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 9th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Anier Sayvion. Vanderslaike FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Naldo Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Célio Varela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Naldo Fonseca came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Vanderslaike FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Naldo Fonseca couldn't finish the play. Naldo Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Claudinho Cearense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anier Sayvion having to interfere. After 45 played minutes Vanderslaike FC got a freekick which was hit by Naldo Fonseca. After a rather tough play, BOA VISTA E.C.'s Ramón Madureira got a free kick in the 48th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Naldo Fonsecas short, quick shot in the 53rdth minute got Célio Varela to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A collision led to Vanderslaike FC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Oswaldo Perez hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Naldo Fonseca got free with Célio Varela in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With his leg Célio Varela managed to avoid a goal in the 58thth minute, when Vanderslaike FC's Naldo Fonseca fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Anier Sayvion came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by BOA VISTA E.C.'s Arlindo Vander. But to his dismay, Arlindo Vander quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 69th match minute, Vanderslaike FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bengt-Arne Stor to maneuver through the defense. Claudinho Cearense took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 69th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Anier Sayvion. Vanderslaike FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Anier Sayvion took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arlindo Vander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Célio Varela made an important save on a dangerous shot by Naldo Fonseca in the 82nd minute. 84 minutes into the game, Laerte Seco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. BOA VISTA E.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vanderslaike FC the free kick. Laerte Seco hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Vanderslaike FC's Anier Sayvion played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinho Cearense in the 90th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ramón Madureira in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anier Sayvion prevented the ball from getting in the gole. BOA VISTA E.C.'s supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
