Wellington Rossi started the match with the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Júnior Toscano during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Júnior Toscano kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Benjamin Custódio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Célio Varela having to make a save. The supporters of BOA VISTA E.C. booed when Rossensal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamin Custódio didn't get a good kick on the ball. David Cosme stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eriberto Recife's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. After a rather tough play, Rossensal's Benjamin Custódio got a free kick in the 15th minute. Rossensal's Renan de Mendonça quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Laerte Seco, made in the 21st minute of the game. In the 21st match minute, BOA VISTA E.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alessandro Meirelles to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute of the match Benjamin Custódio shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Célio Varela showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 25th match minute, BOA VISTA E.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Carlos Vides to maneuver through the defense. Célio Varela was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Benjamin Custódio. Célio Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luisão Saraiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. During the 30th minute of the match Júnior Toscano completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Júnior Toscano a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Júnior Toscano kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Wellington Rossi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 33rd minute, Zé Carlos Vides hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Célio Varela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamin Custódio in the 34th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Wellington Rossi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rossensal's supporters rose to their feet, but Wellington Rossi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Célio Varela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 43 minutes, Arlindo Vander made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Rossensal's David Cosme tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 45 minutes into the game, Zé Carlos Vides was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. BOA VISTA E.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rossensal the free kick. After a rather tough play, BOA VISTA E.C.'s Zé Carlos Vides got a free kick in the 45th minute. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Arlindo Vander made the kick off in the second half. If Ramón Madureira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 62 minutes into the game, BOA VISTA E.C.'s Arlindo Vander nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. David Cosme made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. David Cosme made an important save on a dangerous shot by Claudinho Cearense in the 69th minute. After having played for 72 minutes, Arlindo Vander managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BOA VISTA E.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Arlindo Vander was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 76th minute Wellington Rossi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Célio Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 78 minutes into the game, Arlindo Vander lined in a short shot 0-4 behind a frustrated David Cosme. A collision led to Rossensal getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Wellington Rossi hit a great ball. David Cosme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arlindo Vander in the 89th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arlindo Vander in the 94th minute of play forced Rossensal's goalkeeper David Cosme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 94 minutes, Ramón Madureira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the BOA VISTA E.C. and the Rossensal players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Rossensal booed when BOA VISTA E.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramón Madureira didn't get a good kick on the ball. The BOA VISTA E.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing BOA VISTA E.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
