Edson Trancoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Wilson Esteves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Caco Guerra struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Wilson Esteves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dinamo Brasil. In the 13th minute Edgard Arruda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albert Omescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Edgard Arruda came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the SANTA LUZIA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgard Arruda couldn't finish the play. After 20 played minutes, SANTA LUZIA's Edgard Paraense shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Albert Omescu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SANTA LUZIA reached it. The supporters of Dinamo Brasil booed when SANTA LUZIA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Naldo de Toledo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Dinamo Brasil's Beremundo Pantoja got a free kick in the 29th minute. If Edgard Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the match, SANTA LUZIA's goalkeeper Wilson Esteves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Beremundo Pantoja. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edson Trancoso in the 36th minute of play forced SANTA LUZIA's goalkeeper Wilson Esteves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Caco Guerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Edson Trancoso took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Wilson Esteves to make any attempt to save it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Dinamo Brasil's Cássio Barral was substituted for Dagoberto Pena. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edgard Arruda made a kick off. Wilson Esteves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caco Guerra, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 54th minute, Edgard Arruda ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Albert Omescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After a rather tough play, Dinamo Brasil's Kléberson Linhares got a free kick in the 57th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Barral in the 64th minute of play forced SANTA LUZIA's goalkeeper Wilson Esteves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilmar Mattos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Wilson Esteves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 78th match minute, SANTA LUZIA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Décio Cosme to maneuver through the defense. Wilson Esteves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilmar Mattos, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edgard Arruda in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Albert Omescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 84th minute, Gilmar Mattos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wilson Esteves was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After 87 played minutes SANTA LUZIA got a freekick which was hit by Hortêncio Passos. Dinamo Brasil's Albert Omescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgard Arruda in the 92nd minute of play. Albert Omescu was a little too slow when Charles da Cunha got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 94th minute. The score was now 2-2. Dinamo Brasil were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
