In the 3rd match minute, SANTA LUZIA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joélson Salles to maneuver through the defense. SANTA LUZIA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fernando Ribeiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After the first half the score was level. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edgard Arruda to make the kick off. The Wilson Esteves was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 80 minutes into the match, Guanandi's goal looked a bit too open when Edgard Arruda came free, but Claudinho Severo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Telmo Ramalho's late challenge caught a SANTA LUZIA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Telmo Ramalho helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Guanandi getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Telmo Ramalho hit a great ball. Joélson Salles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Severo having to interfere. Hortêncio Passos's late challenge caught a Guanandi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hortêncio Passos helped the player get up and apologised. Wilson Esteves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Hortêncio Passos kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. If Rodolfo Eger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Joélson Salles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The Guanandi manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing SANTA LUZIA to win.
