Evandro Domingues could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Luizinho Donatello made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Evandro Domingues's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luizinho Donatello was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. A collision led to Marambaia FC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Edmílson Coelho hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The Acadêmico de Viseu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luizinho Donatello should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Buendia in the 92nd minute of play forced Acadêmico de Viseu's goalkeeper Luizinho Donatello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There was no doubt that Marambaia FC were the better team. Marambaia FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
