The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabiano Vinhas got free with Simão Valadares in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Abelardo Custódio hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Rubens Cruz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Josué Custódio in the 9th minute of the match. In the 11th minute Vicente Dracena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simão Valadares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Josué Custódio in the 13th minute of play forced Itaberaba FC's goalkeeper Rubens Cruz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Itaberaba FC's zone, Amílton Vergílio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rubens Cruz came out of the goal and Amílton Vergílio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leandro Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Simão Valadares acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 18th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Claudinei do Nascimento. Emerson de Toledo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 22 played minutes Fronteiro EC got a freekick which was hit by Jeferson de Godoi. The audience was convinced that Jailson Couto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Simão Valadares was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. In the 27th minute, Itaberaba FC's Vicente Dracena ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Simão Valadares. Simão Valadares yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Abelardo Custódio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Simão Valadares made a huge save. Simão Valadares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jailson Couto in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 33rd minute, Emerson Leal reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Simão Valadares. The goal made the score 2-0. Fabiano Vinhas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Simão Valadares made a huge save. Simão Valadares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jailson Couto in the 39th minute of play. A collision led to Fronteiro EC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Amílton Vergílio hit a great ball. Fronteiro EC's Emerson de Toledo got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Emerson de Toledo fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fronteiro EC's protests and gave Emerson de Toledo a yellow card for diving instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jailson Couto was the one to do the kick off. Jailson Couto took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Simão Valadares. Simão Valadares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. After a rather tough play, Fronteiro EC's Chicão Gaúcho got a free kick in the 59th minute. In the 60th minute of the match Claudinei do Nascimento sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Simão Valadares skillfully saved the ball. In the 61st minute, Fabiano Vinhas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Simão Valadares was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. 64 minutes into the game, Itaberaba FC's Fabiano Vinhas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Simão Valadares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Abelardo Custódio struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Simão Valadares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itaberaba FC. Fronteiro EC's Simão Valadares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jailson Couto in the 69th minute of play. In the 71st minute Fabiano Vinhas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simão Valadares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Simão Valadares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abelardo Custódio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabiano Vinhas in the 74th minute of play forced Fronteiro EC's goalkeeper Simão Valadares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fronteiro EC were furious when Chicão Gaúcho was red carded, 80 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 79th minute of the game. One of Fronteiro EC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Itaberaba FC:s goal. Jeferson de Godoi kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. 86 minutes into the match, Fronteiro EC's goal looked a bit too open when Jailson Couto came free, but Simão Valadares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Emerson de Toledo came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Fronteiro EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emerson de Toledo couldn't finish the play. Simão Valadares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabiano Vinhas in the 89th minute of the match. 91 minutes into the match, Fronteiro EC's goal looked a bit too open when Fabiano Vinhas came free, but Simão Valadares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Simão Valadares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jailson Couto, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. After a rather tough play, Itaberaba FC's Claudinei do Nascimento got a free kick in the 95th minute. A hard shot by Josué Custódio from long distance, 96 minutes into the match, got Rubens Cruz's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side.
