José Nunes started the match with the kick off. Mário Matos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Nunes in the 19th minute of the match. Celso Zanette's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 20thth minute, Norberto Quintal skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Celso Zanette received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Norberto Quintal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Taguai FC's Norberto Quintal got control of the ball when Celso Zanette tried to sneak it across the goal line. Enrique Baiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norberto Quintal having to interfere. COLUMBUS CREW BR's Celso Zanette came free and shot a quick shot against goal 28 minutes in the game, fortunately Norberto Quintal had problems saving as it came toward the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Giovani Peres managed to get in a good position for a shot. Taguai FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Giovani Peres was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mário Matos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Norberto Quintal made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Celso Zanette sent off a good shot on target. After 45 minutes, Dráusio Queiroz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the COLUMBUS CREW BR and the Taguai FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 46th minute, Dráusio Queiroz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gonçalo Botelho hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Celso Zanette made a kick off. When Gonçalo Botelho was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 54 minutes had been played. In the 55th match minute, Taguai FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gonçalo Botelho to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Taguai FC booed when COLUMBUS CREW BR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enrique Baiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Taguai FC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. William Tróia hit a great ball. In the 65thth minute of the game Celso Zanette who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Taguai FC's Norberto Quintal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Giovani Peres kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Norberto Quintal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celso Zanette, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. When COLUMBUS CREW BR's Celso Zanette in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Enrique Baiano in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Norberto Quintal saved Taguai FC from getting behind. In the 84th minute Enrique Baiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norberto Quintal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 85 minutes into the game, COLUMBUS CREW BR's Enrique Baiano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Norberto Quintal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Celso Zanette managed to get in a good position for a shot. COLUMBUS CREW BR's supporters rose to their feet, but Celso Zanette was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Norberto Quintal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 91 minutes into the match, Taguai FC's goal looked a bit too open when Enrique Baiano came free, but Norberto Quintal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Nunes's late challenge caught a COLUMBUS CREW BR's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. José Nunes helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Taguai FC's José Nunes got a free kick in the 92nd minute. COLUMBUS CREW BR were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Taguai FC for a fine match.
