In the 10th minute Erik Gaspar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basílio da Fonseca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute, Erik Gaspar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Betão Secco fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Xuripa's protests and gave Betão Secco a yellow card for diving instead. Vivaldo Porto, 16 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Waldemar Toscano during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 20th match minute, Xuripa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldemar Toscano to maneuver through the defense. 22 minutes into the game, Alex Paraíba threw the ball into play from the sideline. Manaus FC's Sidnei Monteiro quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Basílio da Fonseca made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erik Gaspar in the 23rd minute. A collision led to Manaus FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Cássio da Mata hit a great ball. In the 27th minute Ramiro Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandre Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Basílio da Fonseca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolas Travassos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erik Gaspar got free with Basílio da Fonseca in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 37th match minute, Xuripa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Betão Secco to maneuver through the defense. Basílio da Fonseca was a little too slow when Erik Gaspar got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 40th minute. The score was now 1-0. Alexandre Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramiro Soares in the 44th minute of play. If Ramiro Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vivaldo Porto during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 47th minute, Vivaldo Porto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Manaus FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 53rd minute, when Ramiro Soares scored to the left of an out of position Alexandre Toledo, making the score, 1-1. Basílio da Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sidnei Monteiro in the 57th minute of the match. Basílio da Fonseca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erik Gaspar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, João Augusto Mazza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Xuripa's supporters rose to their feet, but João Augusto Mazza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexandre Toledo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Xuripa's Basílio da Fonseca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vivaldo Porto in the 67th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Xuripa's Ramiro Soares dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, João Augusto Mazza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Xuripa's supporters rose to their feet, but João Augusto Mazza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexandre Toledo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 81st match minute, Xuripa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Almir Cavalcante to maneuver through the defense. In the 82nd minute, Nicolas Travassos made a precise shot to the right of Basílio da Fonseca. Xuripa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. With an all-out effort, Xuripa's Alexandre Toledo threw himself towards the right post 89 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from João Augusto Mazza, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Sidnei Monteiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Basílio da Fonseca having to make a save. Erik Gaspar took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Basílio da Fonseca. Basílio da Fonseca dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Manaus FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
