During the 45th minute of the match Cláudio Ceresso completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Cláudio Ceresso a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Taguai FC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Lauro Castro hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Sputnik FC's Francisco da Costa tried to score from far away in the 55th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 59th minute, José Nunes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Norberto Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Tróia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Guilherme Vieira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giovani Peres, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. José Nuness short, quick shot in the 66thth minute got Guilherme Vieira to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 95th minute Emanuel Tróia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norberto Quintal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Francisco da Costa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Norberto Quintal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Taguai FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sputnik FC.
