Parahyba's Teodoro Valladares got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Lauro Torres came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Boaventura SC fans jumped to their feet. After having played for 17 minutes, João Pedro Ortiz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Boaventura SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Pedro Ortiz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ademar Antunes came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Boaventura SC's João Pedro Ortiz. But to his dismay, João Pedro Ortiz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Manuel Silva took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedro Luiz de Andrade. Pedro Luiz de Andrade dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Pedro Ortiz in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ademar Antunes saved Parahyba from getting behind. 32 minutes into the game, Parahyba's Teodoro Valladares nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Luiz de Andrade made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Ademar Antunes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lauro Torres went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Falcão de Senna hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. 45 minutes into the match, Parahyba's goal looked a bit too open when João Pedro Ortiz came free, but Ademar Antunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Falcão de Senna stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Boaventura SC's goalkeeper Pedro Luiz de Andrade, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pedro Luiz de Andrade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Falcão de Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Boaventura SC's Pedro Luiz de Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Falcão de Senna in the 66th minute of play. Lauro Torres took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ademar Antunes. Ademar Antunes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. Ademar Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dadá Miranda in the 77th minute of play. João Pedro Ortiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Ademar Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 83 played minutes Boaventura SC got a freekick which was hit by Igor Negri. After 91 played minutes Boaventura SC got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Godoi. In the 92nd match minute, Parahyba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Silva to maneuver through the defense.
