In the 27th minute Teodoro Valladares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilton Brodel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilton Brodel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Teodoro Valladares went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. After 32 played minutes Parahyba got a freekick which was hit by Jean Goiano. The long shot by Fellipe das Neves in the 34th minute really tested Ademar Antunes's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Arí Chaves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jacarini's supporters rose to their feet, but Arí Chaves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ademar Antunes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Parahyba's zone, Arí Chaves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ademar Antunes came out of the goal and Arí Chaves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Osmar Toledo kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Falcão de Senna's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wilton Brodel was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. Armando Neto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ademar Antunes having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

In the 63rd minute, Falcão de Senna reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Wilton Brodel. The goal made the score 2-2. If Armando Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wilton Brodel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Armando Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. Jacarini's Arí Chaves got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dagoberto Ferraz charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dagoberto Ferraz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
