He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Dynamo 88 reached it. After having played for 18 minutes, Marcelinho Toscano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leão 1918's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcelinho Toscano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 32nd minute, Virgílio Pena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Geovani Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Dynamo 88's Acácio Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovani Pires in the 37th minute of play. Fernandinho Barbosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rony Passos in the 40th minute of the match. 45 minutes into the game, Leão 1918's Geovani Pires nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Acácio Medeiros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Perivaldo Guimarães managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leão 1918's supporters rose to their feet, but Perivaldo Guimarães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Acácio Medeiros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Geovani Pires came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Leão 1918 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geovani Pires couldn't finish the play. Marcelinho Toscano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlinhos Romero scored 1-3 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Acácio Medeiros, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fernandinho Barbosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldo Queirós, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. The supporters of FC Dynamo 88 booed when Leão 1918 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilton Moreno didn't get a good kick on the ball.
