Marcelinho Toscano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claes Alstedt having to interfere. Leão 1918's Perivaldo Guimarães got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When José Augusto de Andrade came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Leão 1918 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Augusto de Andrade couldn't finish the play. Claes Alstedt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelinho Toscano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute, Llope Pais hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Claes Alstedt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovani Pires, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. If Glauco Custódio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claes Alstedt came out of the goal and Perivaldo Guimarães tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Glauco Custódio hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. With a little luck, pinheiral FC's Claes Alstedt got control of the ball when Perivaldo Guimarães tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Glauco Custódio to make the kick off. After 51 minutes, Perivaldo Guimarães mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Leão 1918 and the pinheiral FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Perivaldo Guimarães hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. pinheiral FC's Claes Alstedt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelinho Toscano in the 57th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelinho Toscano in the 59th minute of play forced pinheiral FC's goalkeeper Claes Alstedt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the pinheiral FC defense, Marcelinho Toscano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Claes Alstedt. The pinheiral FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Claes Alstedt should have stopped the shot. Claes Alstedt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Perivaldo Guimarães's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. If André Luís Monteiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gustaf Eckegren kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Perivaldo Guimarães took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Claes Alstedt. Claes Alstedt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. In the 76th match minute, pinheiral FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Llope Pais to maneuver through the defense. If Marcelinho Toscano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Glauco Custódio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leão 1918's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
