Ernani Amaral started the match with the kick off. Juninho Prata made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulisses Ferraz in the 4th minute of play. Moisés Lucas lost his temper 5 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The goalkeeper, Juninho Prata, was totally fooled by Defensores de Savóia's Tarcisio Botelho, who 6 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When Celsinho de Moraes fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vasco Ji-Paraná FC's protests and gave Celsinho de Moraes a yellow card for diving instead. After 10 played minutes Vasco Ji-Paraná FC got a freekick which was hit by Celsinho de Moraes. Juninho Prata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arthur Pena, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Juninho Prata made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Carlos Fernandez in the 12th minute of play. Gabriel Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Natã Cavalcante having to interfere. In the 19th match minute, Vasco Ji-Paraná FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celsinho de Moraes to maneuver through the defense. Vasco Ji-Paraná FC's Juninho Prata proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Vasco Ji-Paraná FC from getting a goal against them. 22 minutes into the match, Vasco Ji-Paraná FC's Celsinho de Moraes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Natã Cavalcante narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Juninho Prata was out of position in the 29 minute of play, and Arthur Pena capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Walmyr Ferreira to make the kick off. Natã Cavalcante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel Queirós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 57 minutes into the match, Vasco Ji-Paraná FC's goal looked a bit too open when Arthur Pena came free, but Juninho Prata reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Celsinho de Moraes might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Natã Cavalcante. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Celsinho de Moraes ran back to his position shaking his head. Elias Peres's late challenge caught a Defensores de Savóia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elias Peres helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Defensores de Savóia booed when Vasco Ji-Paraná FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elias Peres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juninho Prata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arthur Pena, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juninho Prata prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Celsinho de Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Natã Cavalcante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 78th minute José Carlos Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juninho Prata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juninho Prata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arthur Pena, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. If Gabriel Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Celsinho de Moraes took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Natã Cavalcante to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Vasco Ji-Paraná FC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Elias Peres hit a great ball. After 96 played minutes, Defensores de Savóia's Gerson Azevedo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Juninho Prata came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Defensores de Savóia reached it. If Celsinho de Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Vasco Ji-Paraná FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Defensores de Savóia.
