After 3 minutes, Augusto Pinheiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cubatão FC and the Rio de Janeiro F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 4th minute, Virgílio Montenegro fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Serginho Dracena, passed just outside the right post. With 10 minutes on the clock, Ernesto Bertassi commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Rio de Janeiro F.C.:s Nicolas Mota showed great skill when he stopped Renan Penha:s penalty. 11 minutes into the game, Renan Penha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Nicolas Mota was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nicolas Mota came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Cubatão FC's Durvalino Vianna. But to his dismay, Durvalino Vianna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Pedro Paulo Vander's late challenge caught a Rio de Janeiro F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Paulo Vander helped the player get up and apologised. After 22 played minutes Cubatão FC got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Paulo Vander. The supporters of Cubatão FC booed when Rio de Janeiro F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amadeu Maia didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Augusto Pinheiro was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 27 minutes had been played. After 28 played minutes Cubatão FC got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Pinheiro. In the 30th match minute, Rio de Janeiro F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Virgílio Montenegro to maneuver through the defense. Nicolas Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nando Neto in the 33rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nando Neto in the 36th minute of play forced Rio de Janeiro F.C.'s goalkeeper Nicolas Mota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The throw-in from João Adolfo Velasco in the 37th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Rio de Janeiro F.C.'s João Adolfo Loureiro. Serginho Dracena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Virgílio Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Rio de Janeiro F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cubatão FC were winning 0-2.

Nicolas Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nando Neto in the 51st minute of the match. 56 minutes into the match, Cubatão FC's Nando Neto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nicolas Mota narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Rio de Janeiro F.C.'s João Adolfo Loureiro got a free kick in the 57th minute. Rio de Janeiro F.C.'s Yuri Paraibano managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Armandinho Dias in the 59 minute of the game. A collision led to Rio de Janeiro F.C. getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Yuri Paraibano hit a great ball. In the 66th minute, the referee gave Cubatão FC a penalty. Renan Penha looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Nicolas Mota. 69 minutes into the match, Cubatão FC's Baltazar Sanches sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nicolas Mota narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nicolas Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nando Neto in the 71st minute of the match. Cubatão FC were furious when Renan Penha was red carded, 77 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 76 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cubatão FC! In the 79th minute there was a penalty for Rio de Janeiro F.C.. João Adolfo Loureiro stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Serginho Dracena. 1-3. Rio de Janeiro F.C.'s Nicolas Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nando Neto in the 95th minute of play. João Adolfo Loureiro hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. In the 100th minute Nando Neto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolas Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Cubatão FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
