The referee ignored Jarametais's protests and gave Johnny Cabeleira a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Jarametais's Johnny Cabeleira got a free kick in the 3rd minute. 9 minutes into the match, Valério da Silveira notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Jarametais's Alexandro Gavilanes. Alexandro Gavilanes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valério da Silveira in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alexandro Gavilanes saved Jarametais from getting behind. Alexandro Gavilanes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cipriano Ceresso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Jarametais defense, Bernardinho Nóbrega kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alexandro Gavilanes. The Jarametais fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alexandro Gavilanes should have stopped the shot. Alexandro Gavilanes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cipriano Ceresso, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Jarametais's goal looked a bit too open when Valério da Silveira came free, but Alexandro Gavilanes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Valério da Silveira sped through Jarametais's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alexandro Gavilanes. Dieguinho Fernandes was out of position in the 40 minute of play, and Paulo Bezerra capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alexandro Gavilanes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

In the 52nd minute Vânderson Sá shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dieguinho Fernandes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 82 minutes, Dom Fredon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jarametais's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dom Fredon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vânderson Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dieguinho Fernandes having to interfere. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Penúltimo do Ranhing's goalkeeper Dieguinho Fernandes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vânderson Sá's late challenge caught a Penúltimo do Ranhing's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vânderson Sá helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Penúltimo do Ranhing booed when Jarametais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vânderson Sá didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alexandro Gavilanes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cipriano Ceresso, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Penúltimo do Ranhing eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
