The supporters of Calheiros booed when Penúltimo do Ranhing was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodriguinho Zanette didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Iuri Mangueira in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dieguinho Fernandes saved Penúltimo do Ranhing from getting behind. Dieguinho Fernandes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cléberson Magalhães in the 23rd minute of play. With a little luck, Calheiros's Roberto Leme got control of the ball when Valério da Silveira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Iuri Mangueira was the one to do the kick off.
