The supporters of Cubatão FC booed when Penúltimo do Ranhing was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valério da Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th minute Baltazar Sanches shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dieguinho Fernandes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Cubatão FC's goalkeeper Serginho Dracena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valério da Silveira. After 18 minutes, Rodriguinho Zanette mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Penúltimo do Ranhing and the Cubatão FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Serginho Dracena didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Valério da Silveira went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 42 minutes into the game, Cubatão FC's Augusto Pinheiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dieguinho Fernandes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Renan Penha in the 45th minute of play forced Penúltimo do Ranhing's goalkeeper Dieguinho Fernandes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bernardinho Nóbrega to strike the kick off in the second half. Serginho Dracena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cipriano Ceresso, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 58th minute, Augusto Pinheiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dieguinho Fernandes was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Dieguinho Fernandes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raimundo Madureira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dieguinho Fernandes came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Cubatão FC's Nando Neto. But to his dismay, Nando Neto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Cubatão FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
