João Carlos Salles could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Elói Paraibano made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eusébio Aguiar in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Samuca de Carvalho saved ᗰ¡яεu Δหgεłร from getting behind. With an all-out effort, ᗰ¡яεu Δหgεłร's Elói Paraibano threw himself towards the right post 16 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Percival Arce, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 20th match minute, ᗰ¡яεu Δหgεłร was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enrique Faria to maneuver through the defense. Percival Arce fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elói Paraibano having to interfere. João Carlos Salles could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Elói Paraibano made a huge save. Through an outstanding action, after 25 minutes, Elói Paraibano successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 27 minutes into the match, ᗰ¡яεu Δหgεłร's goal looked a bit too open when Eusébio Aguiar came free, but Samuca de Carvalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Percival Arce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 31st minute Josué Romero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuca de Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Murillo Breckenfeld hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elói Paraibano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Percival Arce, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Josué Romero blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Samuca de Carvalho having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Josué Romero got free with Samuca de Carvalho in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Samuca de Carvalho made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Eusébio Aguiar sent off a good shot on target. In the 65thth minute of the game Eusébio Aguiar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ᗰ¡яεu Δหgεłร's Samuca de Carvalho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jano Rodrigues's late challenge caught a Guaraipos EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jano Rodrigues helped the player get up and apologised. Samuca de Carvalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eusébio Aguiar in the 75th minute of the match. Elói Paraibano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Percival Arce, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Guaraipos EC booed when ᗰ¡яεu Δหgεłร was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sidnei Viana didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eusébio Aguiar's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Samuca de Carvalho firmly grabbed it by the left post. Guaraipos EC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
