In the 29th match minute, GrandBulls was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Faria to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Fabiano Albuquerque managed to get in a good position for a shot. Locomotiva grena's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabiano Albuquerque was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Fernando Vaz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Perivaldo Paulista came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Locomotiva grena fans jumped to their feet.
