Facção Capixaba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Amador Menendo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Francisco Soeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francisco Soeiro scored 0-2 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luiz Eduardo Negri, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Amador Menendo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Luiz Eduardo Negri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rubinho Soares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tomás Romero hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute Luiz Gustavo Dante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Eduardo Negri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Grêmio Meia Praia's Amílton Dantas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Grêmio Meia Praia from getting a goal against them. Luiz Eduardo Negri came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Grêmio Meia Praia's Amador Menendo. But to his dismay, Amador Menendo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 30th minute Amador Menendo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Eduardo Negri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luiz Eduardo Negri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Soeiro in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Grêmio Meia Praia were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Vágner Gerber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amílton Dantas having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Luiz Gustavo Dante kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Luiz Eduardo Negri. That made the score 0-5 in the 56 minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Grêmio Meia Praia's goal looked a bit too open when Rubinho Soares came free, but Amílton Dantas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luiz Eduardo Negri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Soeiro in the 62nd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Francisco Soeiro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Luiz Eduardo Negri. That made the score 0-6 in the 67 minute of play. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Amador Menendo put it in 0-7 from a short distance just to the right of Luiz Eduardo Negri. Filipe Eanes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luiz Gustavo Dante took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luiz Eduardo Negri. Luiz Eduardo Negri dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-9. After some careless play in the Facção Capixaba defense, Amador Menendo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luiz Eduardo Negri. The Facção Capixaba fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luiz Eduardo Negri should have stopped the shot. Grêmio Meia Praia's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
