The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nono Contreras came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Águia Tricolor's Gugu Vinhas. But to his dismay, Gugu Vinhas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Gugu Vinhas took the ball and in the 7 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nono Contreras. Nono Contreras dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Murat Selim Zaik made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wilson Rosa in the 11th minute. Murat Selim Zaik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcel Campidelis in the 12th minute of the match. Nono Contreras made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aílton Damião in the 13th minute of play. After some careless play in the Destroyers F.C. defense, Guga França kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nono Contreras. The Destroyers F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nono Contreras should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guga França in the 22nd minute of play forced Destroyers F.C.'s goalkeeper Nono Contreras to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Águia Tricolor's Guga França in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Destroyers F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. 28 minutes into the match, Destroyers F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Aílton Damião came free, but Nono Contreras reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Gugu Vinhas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nono Contreras. Destroyers F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gugu Vinhas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. 32 minutes into the match, Guga França notched a goal, 0-7, to the right of Destroyers F.C.'s Nono Contreras. Nono Contreras was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gugu Vinhas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Guga França might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nono Contreras. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Guga França ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 44th minute, Guga França left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Águia Tricolor fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-9. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-9 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guga França was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Destroyers F.C.'s zone, Gugu Vinhas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nono Contreras came out of the goal and Gugu Vinhas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Destroyers F.C. getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Haroldo Massa hit a great ball. If Guga França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 57 minutes of play, Águia Tricolor's Aílton Damião made it 0-10 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nono Contreras was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Águia Tricolor fans' excitement grew in the 62nd match minute when Águia Tricolor's Guga França looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-11 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Guga França's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, Nono Contreras skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Guga França scored 0-12 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nono Contreras, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gugu Vinhas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nono Contreras having to interfere. 72 minutes into the match, Águia Tricolor's Gugu Vinhas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nono Contreras narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nono Contreras showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hulk Orange, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Destroyers F.C.'s Nono Contreras proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Destroyers F.C. from getting a goal against them. Aílton Damião recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Águia Tricolor's César Pena was substituted for Márcio Costa. Guga França's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nono Contreras read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Nono Contreras made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Guga França sent off a good shot on target. In the 82nd minute Hulk Orange shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nono Contreras saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Destroyers F.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 84th minute, when Gugu Vinhas scored to the left of an out of position Nono Contreras, making the score, 0-13. Águia Tricolor made a substitution. Otto Bähr replaced Raphael Araújo. Gugu Vinhas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A hard shot 90 in the game by Gabriel Batistuta from a close distance when the talented Nono Contreras managed to make a qualified save. Destroyers F.C.'s players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gugu Vinhas in the 92nd minute of play forced Destroyers F.C.'s goalkeeper Nono Contreras to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Beto Mangueira charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Beto Mangueira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Destroyers F.C. getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Beto Mangueira hit a great ball. When the final whistle sounded Águia Tricolor left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Destroyers F.C..
