After a defensive mix-up in CARDINEL's zone, Ezequiel Mattos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anselmo Botelho came out of the goal and Ezequiel Mattos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Waldir de Amaral took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anselmo Botelho. Anselmo Botelho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Raúl Neiva during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Los Royal Mariachis booed when CARDINEL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raúl Neiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 20 minutes, Waldir de Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Royal Mariachis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Waldir de Amaral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 22nd minute, Carlos Maia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to CARDINEL getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Hélio Paulista hit a great ball. Anselmo Botelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wesley Valadares in the 24th minute of the match. After 25 minutes of play, Los Royal Mariachis's Albertinho Velloso made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Anselmo Botelho was left in no man's land by his defense there! 32 minutes into the match, CARDINEL's goal looked a bit too open when Albertinho Velloso came free, but Anselmo Botelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ezequiel Mattos took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 34th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Anselmo Botelho. CARDINEL's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Wesley Valadares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anselmo Botelho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. After 38 minutes of play, Los Royal Mariachis's Wesley Valadares made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Anselmo Botelho was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 43rd match minute, CARDINEL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Carlos Palmeira to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Los Royal Mariachis were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wesley Valadares made a kick off. Anselmo Botelho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wesley Valadares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 61 minutes into the game, Los Royal Mariachis's Wesley Valadares nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Anselmo Botelho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. 65 minutes had been played when some careless play by CARDINEL's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ezequiel Mattos was slow to take the kick. During this time Los Royal Mariachis's players had a chance to rest. A collision led to Los Royal Mariachis getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Reima Myllylä hit a great ball. In the 65th minute, Reima Myllylä fired away a sharp free kick straight at the goal. It looked like it might be really tough for the goalie to handle, but the shot went into the stands to the left of Anselmo Botelho. After 66 played minutes Los Royal Mariachis got a freekick which was hit by Reima Myllylä. In the 68th minute Wesley Valadares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anselmo Botelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Albertinho Velloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Krzysztof Betonowy hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. A collision led to Los Royal Mariachis getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Albertinho Velloso hit a great ball. In the 80th minute, Waldir de Amaral left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Los Royal Mariachis fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reima Myllylä in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anselmo Botelho saved CARDINEL from getting behind. 85 minutes into the match, Wesley Valadares dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Anselmo Botelho, 0-8. Los Royal Mariachis's Raí Paraibano was substituted for Wesley Valadares. Albertinho Velloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo Botelho having to interfere. Luís Gustavo Abraão hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Anselmo Botelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albertinho Velloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Anselmo Botelho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Raí Paraibano in the 96th minute. Los Royal Mariachis's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
