Sporting Clube d Portugal's supporters rose to their feet, but Artur Alves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cris Bala breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 17 minutes into the match, Sporting Clube d Portugal's goalkeeper Romulo Frederik had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juninho de Azevedo. Artur Alves's late challenge caught a Brasiliense FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Artur Alves helped the player get up and apologised. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Sporting Clube d Portugal had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
