Carlos Augusto Arósio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Severino Azevedo went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Bernardinho de Brito struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Carlos Augusto Arósio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leão de Judá. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hernani Branco got free with Gadiel Gadov in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ferdi Saksø's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Gadiel Gadov firmly grabbed it by the left post. Dudu Rossi kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Cesinha Pitta was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 45th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After the first half Leão de Judá were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Gadiel Gadov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugênio Lima, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Carlos Augusto Arósio made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Bernardinho de Brito sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Caetano De Bruyne's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlos Augusto Arósio was relentless in the 75th minute of the game.
