An unexpectedly hard shot by Arlindo Martins in the 20th minute of play forced Barra Funda F.C's goalkeeper Gugu Gaúcho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gugu Gaúcho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelsinho Salles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Kajetan Jestrimski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 29 minutes into the game, Arlindo Martins cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Gugu Gaúcho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gugu Gaúcho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nelsinho Salles in the 34th minute of the match. Barra Funda F.C's Gugu Gaúcho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arlindo Martins in the 35th minute of play. Gugu Gaúcho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kajetan Jestrimski, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Amílton Gomes kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Nelsinho Salles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gugu Gaúcho having to interfere. When Jefferson Soeiro fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barra Funda F.C's protests and gave Jefferson Soeiro a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Clube Atletico Guarulhos booed when Barra Funda F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jefferson Soeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arlindo Martins in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gugu Gaúcho saved Barra Funda F.C from getting behind. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Nelsinho Salles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gugu Gaúcho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kajetan Jestrimski in the 56th minute of the match. Nelsinho Salles's late challenge caught a Barra Funda F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 95th minute, Arlindo Martins got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 97 minutes into the match, Barra Funda F.C's goalkeeper Gugu Gaúcho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nelsinho Salles. When the final whistle sounded Clube Atletico Guarulhos left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Barra Funda F.C.
