The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Maicon Arruda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Yusuf Muslera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miroslaw Miazga in the 8th minute of play forced America FC's goalkeeper Gildo Furtado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the game, Miroslaw Miazga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Gildo Furtado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 23rdth minute of the game Patrick Meira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but America FC's Gildo Furtado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Patrick Meira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 29 minutes JFSP's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jonas Dracena who took care of the corner kick. Gildo Furtado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patrick Meira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 31 minutes America FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Patrick Meira who took care of the corner kick. JFSP's Patrick Meira was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gildo Furtado in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Gildo Furtado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patrick Meira in the 38th minute of the match. Patrick Meira took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gildo Furtado. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for America FC. Gildo Furtado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrick Meira, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. After 63 minutes, Patrick Meira made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. America FC's Gildo Furtado tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Gildo Furtado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Patrick Meira's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. JFSP made a substitution. Bernardo Cabral replaced Patrick Meira. The supporters of America FC booed when JFSP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeferson Aguiar didn't get a good kick on the ball. JFSP were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over America FC's much stronger midfield.
