The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gerrit Hardering stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hudson Bittencourt's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. Kobe Lewandowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nelson da Mata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Niyazi Zaxundov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Niyazi Zaxundov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustavo Cordeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 23rd minute of the match, Nelson da Mata got a very nice opportunity to score, but Niyazi Zaxundov was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claudinho Aparecido got free with Niyazi Zaxundov in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gerrit Hardering took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hatem Trabelsi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kobe Lewandowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerrit Hardering having to interfere. Samuca Prata charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Samuca Prata the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Unidos F C booed when New England Patriots was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuca Prata didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the game, Claudinho Aparecido was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. New England Patriots's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Unidos F C the free kick. In the 46th minute, Claudinho Aparecido hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th minute Hudson Bittencourt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerrit Hardering saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hudson Bittencourt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Unidos F C's Niyazi Zaxundov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinho Aparecido in the 52nd minute of play. Anibal Esquipula's late challenge caught a Unidos F C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anibal Esquipula helped the player get up and apologised. Zeca Queiroz was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 67th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Kobe Lewandowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hudson Bittencourt struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Gerrit Hardering didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Unidos F C. If Kobe Lewandowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. New England Patriots's Gerrit Hardering proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save New England Patriots from getting a goal against them. After 77 minutes New England Patriots's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Zeca Queiroz who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Unidos F C's Zeca Queiroz to fire away a dangerous shot which Gerrit Hardering despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Gustavo Cordeiro scored 2-1 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Niyazi Zaxundov, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Unidos F C's Jaime Toro was substituted for Leonel Modrić. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hudson Bittencourt in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gerrit Hardering prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eurico Goiano kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Hudson Bittencourt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. New England Patriots's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
