The Biruleibe FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. When Edgar de Castro fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Biruleibe FC's protests and gave Edgar de Castro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 25th match minute, Biruleibe FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgar de Castro to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Biruleibe FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Fabinho Araújo hit a great ball. Cresciuma EC's Faustão Prado got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Juninho Cruz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiaguinho Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After a rather tough play, Cresciuma EC's Faustão Prado got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Fabinho Araújo charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabinho Araújo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Faustão Prado to strike the kick off in the second half. Kiko Donato's late challenge caught a Biruleibe FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kiko Donato helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Cresciuma EC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Kiko Donato hit a great ball. After 52 minutes of play, Biruleibe FC's Andrézinho Correia made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Juninho Cruz was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 55th minute, Tiaguinho Alcântara reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Juninho Cruz. The goal made the score 0-7. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andrézinho Correia got free with Juninho Cruz in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 61 minutes into the match, Cresciuma EC's goal looked a bit too open when Fabinho Araújo came free, but Juninho Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Cresciuma EC's zone, Andrézinho Correia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juninho Cruz came out of the goal and Andrézinho Correia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wilton Nogueira hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. In the 85th match minute, Cresciuma EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronaldinho das Neves to maneuver through the defense. Cresciuma EC's Juninho Cruz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Cresciuma EC from getting a goal against them. Cresciuma EC's Faustão Prado got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Biruleibe FC played a much better game than Cresciuma EC and deserved their victory. The Cresciuma EC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
