Edmílson Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Gerrit Hardering tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Sydney Rosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Almir de Mendonça showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustavo Cordeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. After 17 minutes New England Patriots's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Augusto Bezerra who took care of the corner kick. Gerrit Hardering took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmílson Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Catone's Almir de Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelson da Mata in the 21st minute of play. Chris Angel charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chris Angel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Chris Angel kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, New England Patriots's Didi Castro tried to score from far away in the 26th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 29 minutes into the match, New England Patriots's goalkeeper Gerrit Hardering had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edmílson Neves. Almir de Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duda Pitta in the 32nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Sydney Rosa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gerrit Hardering was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Sydney Rosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerrit Hardering having to interfere. Sydney Rosa was extremely unlucky when he, in the 41st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Sydney Rosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nelson da Mata kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sydney Rosa made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Sydney Rosa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gerrit Hardering was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The supporters of Catone booed when New England Patriots was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Didi Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Edmílson Neves came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Catone fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmílson Neves couldn't finish the play. In the 68th match minute, New England Patriots was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Didi Castro to maneuver through the defense. In the 70th minute of the match Chris Angel shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gerrit Hardering showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Catone getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Cucu Bau hit a great ball. Cucu Bau hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. New England Patriots's Gerrit Hardering played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliézer Urbano in the 77th minute of play. After 79 minutes of play, Catone's Edmílson Neves made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gerrit Hardering was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gerrit Hardering showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliézer Urbano, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Cordeiro in the 84th minute of play forced Catone's goalkeeper Almir de Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute, Gustavo Cordeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eliézer Urbano in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gerrit Hardering prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the referee ended the match the Catone players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
