Norbert Balonek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz da Fonseca in the 21st minute of the match. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Goianésia E.C's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Zacarias Aurken was slow to take the kick. During this time A.C. Guará's players had a chance to rest. Michal Karwowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adalberto Santos in the 25th minute of play. Norbert Balonek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zacarias Aurken, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. A.C. Guará's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Zacarias Aurken in the 28th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zacarias Aurken in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Norbert Balonek saved Goianésia E.C from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Zacarias Aurken's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Norbert Balonek was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Norbert Balonek stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zacarias Aurken's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. After 40 played minutes Goianésia E.C got a freekick which was hit by Hortêncio Senna. After some careless play in the Goianésia E.C defense, Zacarias Aurken kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Norbert Balonek. The Goianésia E.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Norbert Balonek should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zacarias Aurken stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adalberto Santos couldn't finish the play.
