A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Sobhy Paredes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arthur Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovânio Paes in the 14th minute of play forced E.C.Pelotas's goalkeeper Sobhy Paredes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vincent McGorrie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Leon, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 18th minute Geovânio Paes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sobhy Paredes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The E.C.Pelotas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sobhy Paredes should have stopped the shot. Sobhy Paredes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geovânio Paes in the 26th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, E.C.Pelotas's Osvaldo de Carvalho got a free kick in the 29th minute. The supporters of E.C.Pelotas booed when SERRANO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucas de Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vincent McGorrie made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benjamin Marinho in the 32nd minute. In the 38th match minute, SERRANO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enéas Moreira to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th minute, Murilo Neto made a precise shot to the right of Vincent McGorrie. SERRANO's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. With a little luck, SERRANO's Vincent McGorrie got control of the ball when Murilo Neto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sobhy Paredes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arthur Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 48 minutes into the match, E.C.Pelotas's goal looked a bit too open when Agnaldo Perez came free, but Sobhy Paredes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alfonso Leon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to E.C.Pelotas getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Alfonso Leon hit a great ball. E.C.Pelotas's Wilhelm Rolfsson was substituted for Nando Vides. E.C.Pelotas made a substitution. Luke Modrić replaced Alfonso Leon. Vincent McGorrie stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luke Modrić's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. Vincent McGorrie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luke Modrić in the 64th minute of the match. In the 66th minute, Luke Modrić got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Luke Modrić fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored E.C.Pelotas's protests and gave Luke Modrić a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luke Modrić in the 69th minute of play forced SERRANO's goalkeeper Vincent McGorrie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Valdemar Almeida kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sobhy Paredes. That made the score 2-3 in the 71 minute of play. In the 78th minute, E.C.Pelotas's Franz Anlohse seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Franz Anlohse the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of E.C.Pelotas protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Franz Anlohse had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After a rather tough play, E.C.Pelotas's Franz Anlohse got a free kick in the 79th minute. Arthur Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sobhy Paredes having to interfere. A collision led to SERRANO getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Lucas de Azevedo hit a great ball. When Luke Modrić came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the E.C.Pelotas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luke Modrić couldn't finish the play. In the 88th minute, Luke Modrić ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vincent McGorrie was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arthur Neves got free with Sobhy Paredes in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 95 played minutes E.C.Pelotas got a freekick which was hit by Erivaldo Furlan. SERRANO were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
