Sobhy Paredes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Antoni Karanewski went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Alfonso Leon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeferson Silva having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Murilo Neto in the 18th minute of play forced J.J CALDAS's goalkeeper Jeferson Silva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, J.J CALDAS's Sobhy Paredes threw himself towards the right post 20 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Antoni Karanewski, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 27th minute Jacq Lieckens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sobhy Paredes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nilton Quintal got free with Sobhy Paredes in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Osvaldo de Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. If Murilo Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of J.J CALDAS booed when E.C.Pelotas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osvaldo de Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute, Pedro Luiz Ceresso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 41 minutes into the match, J.J CALDAS's goal looked a bit too open when Murilo Neto came free, but Jeferson Silva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alfonso Leon made a kick off. E.C.Pelotas's Benjamin Marinho got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. E.C.Pelotas's Sobhy Paredes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vicente Chabier in the 55th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, E.C.Pelotas's goal looked a bit too open when Ildefonso Quintanadueñas came free, but Sobhy Paredes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to E.C.Pelotas getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Wilhelm Rolfsson hit a great ball. E.C.Pelotas made a substitution. Luke Modrić replaced Alfonso Leon. After 60 played minutes, J.J CALDAS's Pedro Luiz Ceresso shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sobhy Paredes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in J.J CALDAS reached it. After a rather tough play, E.C.Pelotas's Osvaldo de Carvalho got a free kick in the 67th minute. After 71 minutes of play, J.J CALDAS's Vicente Chabier made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sobhy Paredes was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luke Modrić struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Jeferson Silva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for E.C.Pelotas. Jeferson Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luke Modrić, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to J.J CALDAS getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Nilton Quintal hit a great ball. Luke Modrić hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Ataulfo Macho charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ataulfo Macho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ataulfo Macho kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. After some careless play in the E.C.Pelotas defense, Vicente Chabier kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sobhy Paredes. The E.C.Pelotas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sobhy Paredes should have stopped the shot. When the referee ended the match the J.J CALDAS players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
