In the 22ndth minute of the game Alfonso Leon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sipo EC's Cacá Maciel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 24 played minutes Sipo EC got a freekick which was hit by Hermínio Rosado. E.C.Pelotas's Sobhy Paredes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Décio Messias in the 30th minute of play. After 32 played minutes, Sipo EC's José Paulo Prata shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sobhy Paredes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sipo EC reached it. 34 minutes into the game, Valdir Arósio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Sobhy Paredes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sobhy Paredes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Décio Messias in the 36th minute of play. Décio Messias came free with the goalkeeper in the 43rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Sobhy Paredes could save by the left post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Alfonso Leon made the kick off in the second half. Nando Vides hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. After 54 minutes of play, Sipo EC's José Paulo Prata made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sobhy Paredes was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sobhy Paredes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Paulo Prata, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 58 minutes into the match, E.C.Pelotas's goal looked a bit too open when Valdir Arósio came free, but Sobhy Paredes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
