AC Metropol's Patrick Recife proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save AC Metropol from getting a goal against them. Kléber Paulista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Patrick Recife didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 11th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. After 14 played minutes AC Metropol got a freekick which was hit by Edmílson de Barros. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Reinaldo Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guarani MZC's supporters rose to their feet, but Reinaldo Cunha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Geovanni Gomes to strike the kick off in the second half. Patrick Recife came out of the goal and Reinaldo Cunha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kléber Paulista might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Patrick Recife. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. But to his dismay, Reinaldo Cunha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovanni Gomes in the 79th minute of play forced AC Metropol's goalkeeper Patrick Recife to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Reinaldo Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Geovanni Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick Recife having to interfere. Guarani MZC's Carlos Dracena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hamílton Miranda in the 93rd minute of play. When Reinaldo Cunha came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Guarani MZC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reinaldo Cunha couldn't finish the play. Guarani MZC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
