With an extended leg and a bit of luck Magno Maia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doni Catarinense in the 6th minute of play forced Alice's goalkeeper Magno Maia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Magno Maia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doni Catarinense in the 6th minute of the match. 9 minutes into the match, Alice's Álvaro Lima sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jardel Queiroz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the Alice defense, Antônio Carlos Arantes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Magno Maia. The Alice fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Magno Maia should have stopped the shot. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by AE Uruguaianense's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Álvaro Lima was slow to take the kick. During this time Alice's players had a chance to rest. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Raphael Lira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alice's supporters rose to their feet, but Raphael Lira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jardel Queiroz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Álvaro Lima struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Jardel Queiroz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alice. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlos Alberto Domingues during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. AE Uruguaianense's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Álvaro Lima 36 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-1. AE Uruguaianense's Jardel Queiroz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Álvaro Lima in the 39th minute of play. AE Uruguaianense's Jardel Queiroz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save AE Uruguaianense from getting a goal against them. Jardel Queiroz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Álvaro Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 49th minute of the match Alice got a corner. AE Uruguaianense's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Álvaro Lima ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Álvaro Lima got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jardel Queiroz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Álvaro Lima made a kick off. Romário Porto did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-2 to the left of a surprised Magno Maia 55 minutes into the match. A collision led to AE Uruguaianense getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Romário Porto hit a great ball. 61 minutes into the match, George Belline notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of AE Uruguaianense's Jardel Queiroz. Jardel Queiroz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 67th minute, Raphael Lira made a precise shot to the right of Jardel Queiroz. AE Uruguaianense's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2. 72 minutes into the game, Romário Porto recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Magno Maia. Romário Porto showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-3. Álvaro Lima took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jardel Queiroz. Jardel Queiroz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Doni Catarinense got free with Magno Maia in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jardel Queiroz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Álvaro Lima in the 81st minute of play. Alice's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Álvaro Lima in the 81st minute. Álvaro Lima made a great header on Alice's corner, it was just that AE Uruguaianense's Jardel Queiroz managed to reach the ball for a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Álvaro Lima in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jardel Queiroz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Alice's George Belline got a free kick in the 84th minute. When Marco Pena fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AE Uruguaianense's protests and gave Marco Pena a yellow card for diving instead. Marco Pena hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Álvaro Lima in the 96th minute of play forced AE Uruguaianense's goalkeeper Jardel Queiroz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Magno Maia was out of position in the 98 minute of play, and Gilmar Tinoco capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gilmar Tinoco really showed his touch with that goal: 5-4.
