In the 8th minute, Celso Osoro sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and AE Uruguaianense's Jardel Queiroz didn't even have to move. After 10 minutes, İlyas Okcan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itália and the AE Uruguaianense players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 11th match minute, Itália was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by İlyas Okcan to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, AE Uruguaianense's Abelardo França tried to score from far away in the 11th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 14 minutes into the match, Antônio Carlos Arantes notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Itália's Rodriguinho Motta. Rodriguinho Motta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Romário Porto managed to get in a good position for a shot. AE Uruguaianense's supporters rose to their feet, but Romário Porto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodriguinho Motta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 18th minute, Antônio Carlos Arantes made a precise shot to the right of Rodriguinho Motta. Itália's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Rodriguinho Motta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romário Porto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Jardel Queiroz managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when Itália's Dagoberto Velasco fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 29 minutes into the match, Itália's goal looked a bit too open when Romário Porto came free, but Rodriguinho Motta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Antônio Carlos Arantes charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Antônio Carlos Arantes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of AE Uruguaianense booed when Itália was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiaguinho Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Doni Catarinense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodriguinho Motta having to interfere. In the 37th minute Antônio Carlos Arantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodriguinho Motta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Itália defense, Doni Catarinense kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rodriguinho Motta. The Itália fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rodriguinho Motta should have stopped the shot. Romário Porto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Rodriguinho Motta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Itália fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rodriguinho Motta should have stopped the shot.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dagoberto Velasco to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Doni Catarinense got free with Rodriguinho Motta in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Itália's İlyas Okcan got a free kick in the 57th minute. Abelardo França struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Rodriguinho Motta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AE Uruguaianense. Rodriguinho Motta came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by AE Uruguaianense's Romário Porto. But to his dismay, Romário Porto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romário Porto in the 66th minute of play forced Itália's goalkeeper Rodriguinho Motta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodriguinho Motta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Romário Porto's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. Josué Pombal kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. 74 minutes into the game, Itália's Helge Ödman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jardel Queiroz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-6. Rodriguinho Motta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romário Porto in the 77th minute of the match. AE Uruguaianense's Doni Catarinense got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Romário Porto let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 85th minute shot 1-8 at rihgt post. Doni Catarinense struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Rodriguinho Motta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AE Uruguaianense. During the 89th minute of the match Tiaguinho Torres completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Tiaguinho Torres a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 89 played minutes Itália got a freekick which was hit by Tiaguinho Torres. Romário Porto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Rodriguinho Motta made a huge save. Rodriguinho Motta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Romário Porto in the 92nd minute. In the 95th minute, Romário Porto reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rodriguinho Motta. The goal made the score 1-9. AE Uruguaianense played a much better game than Itália and deserved their victory. The Itália players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
