Wanderson Rosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick Recife having to interfere. After 4 played minutes Volta Redonda F. Clube got a freekick which was hit by Inácio Mandrak. After a rather tough play, Volta Redonda F. Clube's Albertinho Lima got a free kick in the 8th minute. With a little luck, AC Metropol's Patrick Recife got control of the ball when Wanderson Rosa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Wanderson Rosa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Patrick Recife having to make a save. AC Metropol's Patrick Recife proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save AC Metropol from getting a goal against them. 19 minutes into the game, Wanderson Rosa lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Patrick Recife. Patrick Recife was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Wanderson Rosa showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 22 minute of play. After 26 played minutes AC Metropol got a freekick which was hit by Edmílson de Barros. After having played for 31 minutes, Wanderson Rosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Volta Redonda F. Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wanderson Rosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Patrick Recife stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wanderson Rosa's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. 5-1 became the score in the 40th minute when Hamílton Miranda elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Wanderson Rosas short, quick shot in the 44thth minute got Patrick Recife to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A collision led to AC Metropol getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Eliseu Nóbrega hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Wanderson Rosa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Patrick Recife was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

52 minutes into the match, AC Metropol's goal looked a bit too open when Inácio Mandrak came free, but Patrick Recife reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Wanderson Rosa came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Volta Redonda F. Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wanderson Rosa couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wanderson Rosa in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Patrick Recife prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 84 minutes of play, Volta Redonda F. Clube's Albertinho Lima made it 7-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Patrick Recife was left in no man's land by his defense there! Patrick Recife didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wanderson Rosa went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 8-1 was the resulting score. Wanderson Rosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Patrick Recife tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Patrick Recife took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wanderson Rosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 95thth minute of the game Wanderson Rosa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AC Metropol's Patrick Recife was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Volta Redonda F. Clube walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
