Hílton Travassos started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Esporte Clube Italva's goalkeeper Hílton do Valle had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rubens Torres. 5 minutes had been played when some careless play by Esporte Clube Italva's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Emil Zaremba was slow to take the kick. During this time Tamboril's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Tamboril's Glauco Leão to fire away a dangerous shot which Hílton do Valle despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rubens Torres got free with Hílton do Valle in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 10th minute of the match, Emil Zaremba tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Hílton do Valle saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. A collision led to Tamboril getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Rubens Torres hit a great ball. Emil Zaremba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hílton do Valle having to interfere. The supporters of Tamboril booed when Esporte Clube Italva was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leopoldo de Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cacá Matorin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Hílton do Valle made a huge save. In the 23rd minute Rubens Torres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hílton do Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cacá Matorin might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hílton do Valle. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cacá Matorin ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 29th minute, Esporte Clube Italva's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cacá Matorin fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The supporters of Tamboril booed when Esporte Clube Italva was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hílton Travassos didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 32 minutes Esporte Clube Italva's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Emil Zaremba who took care of the corner kick. Rubens Torres hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Cacá Matorin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Hílton do Valle made a huge save. The supporters of Tamboril booed when Esporte Clube Italva was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leopoldo de Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cacá Matorin's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 38thth minute, Hílton do Valle skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Emil Zaremba received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hílton do Valle came out and tried to block the shot, but Emil Zaremba slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 41st minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Hílton do Valle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emil Zaremba, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Narciso Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erivaldo Furlan having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Hílton Travassos could shoot a difficult shot in the 61st minute, which Erivaldo Furlan however easily saved by the left post. In the 66th minute, Maurício Macedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tamboril's Cacá Matorin got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cacá Matorin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hílton do Valle having to make a save. Esporte Clube Italva's Hílton do Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cacá Matorin in the 73rd minute of play. When Tamboril's Cacá Matorin in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Esporte Clube Italva's goalie prevented a goal. The Tamboril fans' excitement grew in the 75th match minute when Tamboril's Cacá Matorin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 78th minute, Cacá Matorin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hílton do Valle was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Emil Zaremba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Hílton do Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th match minute, Esporte Clube Italva was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mané Leite to maneuver through the defense. Hílton do Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emil Zaremba in the 91st minute of play. After having played for 94 minutes, Emil Zaremba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tamboril's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emil Zaremba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Narciso Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tamboril walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
