Paulo José Queiroz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 7 minutes into the game, Kjell-Arne Eckegren was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Arapapa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clube do Remo the free kick. After 7 played minutes Arapapa got a freekick which was hit by Kjell-Arne Eckegren. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Dorian Carioca put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Paulo José Queiroz. In the 13th minute Dorian Carioca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo José Queiroz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emerson Figueiredo kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Reginaldo Teixeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luizinho Schmidt showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Luizinho Schmidt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jairo Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th match minute, Arapapa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cauã Peres to maneuver through the defense. Clube do Remo's Cláudio Lucas couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 41st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Arapapa.

In the 52nd minute, Aníbal Pernambucano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 59th minute, Dorian Carioca left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Clube do Remo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After having played for 63 minutes, Aníbal Pernambucano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clube do Remo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aníbal Pernambucano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aníbal Pernambucano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorian Carioca in the 72nd minute of play forced Arapapa's goalkeeper Paulo José Queiroz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Clube do Remo getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Diego Montenegro hit a great ball. 87 minutes into the match, Arapapa's goalkeeper Paulo José Queiroz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dorian Carioca. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dorian Carioca in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulo José Queiroz saved Arapapa from getting behind. Jairo Lima hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Arapapa's Kjell-Arne Eckegren got his second yellow card of the match in the 94th minute.
