Natanael Luz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Artan Topalovski fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Clube Sporting Navuo's protests and gave Artan Topalovski a yellow card for diving instead. In the 9th minute, Artan Topalovski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 12 minutes of play, Clube Sporting Navuo's Toninho Guerreiro made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Natanael Luz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Flávio Reis struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Natanael Luz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Clube Sporting Navuo. If Fodil Souakri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Natanael Luz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toninho Guerreiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Natanael Luz came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Clube Sporting Navuo's Gabriel Batistuta. But to his dismay, Gabriel Batistuta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Toninho Guerreiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Clube Sporting Navuo's Andreas Fuchs in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gruna's goalie prevented a goal. Gabriel Batistuta struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Clube Sporting Navuo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Flávio Reis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Toninho Guerreiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flávio Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Natanael Luz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gabriel Batistuta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gabriel Batistuta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Natanael Luz having to interfere. If Gabriel Batistuta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cristian Félix to make the kick off. Gabriel Batistuta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Natanael Luz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Gruna's Percy Monteiro got a free kick in the 75th minute. Clube Sporting Navuo's Celso Vander was substituted for Gabriel Batistuta. A collision led to Gruna getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Percy Monteiro hit a great ball. Joaquim Pombal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Félix, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. After having played for 86 minutes, Celso Vander managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clube Sporting Navuo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Celso Vander was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Celso Vander received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Natanael Luz came out and tried to block the shot, but Celso Vander slotted it home off the left post making it 0-7 in the 88th minute. In the 95th match minute, Gruna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Messias to maneuver through the defense. Clube Sporting Navuo's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
