All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomás Senna stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonel Leão couldn't finish the play. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mundial EC's goalkeeper Germano Moraes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 76 played minutes Mundial EC got a freekick which was hit by Tomás Senna. Jefferson de Moraes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reinaldo de Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute.
