After having played for 8 minutes, Luís Guilherme Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Beneficiente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Guilherme Cunha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dida Senna kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Toninho Guerreiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lara Peñaranda having to interfere. Zheng Guang Ning hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 16th match minute, Clube Sporting Navuo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Josué Ferreira to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute, Josué Ferreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lara Peñaranda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Batistuta, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Andreas Fuchs could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Lara Peñaranda made a huge save. Joaquim Pombal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luís Guilherme Cunha made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Beneficiente's Dida Senna got a free kick in the 55th minute. Alexander McCuag took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 55th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lara Peñaranda. Beneficiente's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Clube Sporting Navuo getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. After 78 minutes, Ezequiel Capixaba mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Clube Sporting Navuo and the Beneficiente players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ezequiel Capixaba hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. In the 82nd minute, Luís Guilherme Cunha ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquim Pombal was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Antônio Souto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Pombal having to interfere. The Beneficiente supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Beneficiente would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
