Adam Encuțescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Germano Moraes made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Senna in the 18th minute of play forced Cascavel's goalkeeper Mazinho Gaúcho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Tomás Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mundial EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomás Senna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mazinho Gaúcho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Mundial EC's Germano Moraes got control of the ball when Anselmo Paraibano tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 34th minute, Adam Encuțescu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cascavel fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. 37 minutes into the match, Anderson Cosme had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Germano Moraes. Mundial EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anderson Cosme was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Placido Egli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Germano Moraes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adam Encuțescu made a kick off. Germano Moraes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Placido Egli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 98 minutes, Murilo de Almeida mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mundial EC and the Cascavel players grew even worse after the yellow card. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Cascavel fully deserved thier win.
