In the 45thth minute of the game Flávio Reis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Araçá F. C.'s Jefferson de Moraes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gabriel Batistuta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jefferson de Moraes having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gabriel Batistuta made a kick off. The supporters of Clube Sporting Navuo booed when Araçá F. C.'s Javier Abalos quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Josué Ferreira, made in the 57th minute of the game. In the 74th minute there was a penalty for Araçá F. C.. João Breckenfeld stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Joaquim Pombal. 2-1. After 77 minutes, Javier Abalos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Araçá F. C. and the Clube Sporting Navuo players grew even worse after the yellow card.
