Toninho Guerreiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Germano Moraes made a huge save. Mundial EC's Germano Moraes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Batistuta in the 5th minute of play. Joaquim Pombal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reinaldo de Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 12th minute of the match Mundial EC got a corner. Clube Sporting Navuo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Will de Backer ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Will de Backer almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Clube Sporting Navuo's Joaquim Pombal did a great save. Germano Moraes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gabriel Batistuta in the 13th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Senna in the 15th minute of play forced Clube Sporting Navuo's goalkeeper Joaquim Pombal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Germano Moraes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flávio Reis in the 29th minute of play. 32 minutes into the game, Flávio Reis recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Germano Moraes. Flávio Reis showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. A collision led to Mundial EC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Egídio França hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Mundial EC's Egídio França got a free kick in the 36th minute. In the 38th match minute, Clube Sporting Navuo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flávio Reis to maneuver through the defense. Joaquim Pombal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomás Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Mundial EC's Júnior Santos got a free kick in the 41st minute. Germano Moraes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flávio Reis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Joaquim Pombal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reinaldo de Alcântara in the 51st minute. When Alexander McCuag came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Clube Sporting Navuo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexander McCuag couldn't finish the play. 68 minutes into the match, Toninho Guerreiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Germano Moraes. Mundial EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Toninho Guerreiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. After 72 played minutes Mundial EC got a freekick which was hit by Reinaldo de Alcântara. Mundial EC's Germano Moraes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flávio Reis in the 75th minute of play. Egídio França charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Egídio França the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 76th minute, Egídio França hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Clube Sporting Navuo made a substitution. Danilo Vale replaced Toninho Guerreiro. Clube Sporting Navuo's Celso Vander was substituted for Gabriel Batistuta. In the 81st match minute, Clube Sporting Navuo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ediberto França to maneuver through the defense. Tomás Sennas short, quick shot in the 83rdth minute got Joaquim Pombal to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celso Vander in the 87th minute of play forced Mundial EC's goalkeeper Germano Moraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mundial EC's Will de Backer couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 89th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Clube Sporting Navuo. Germano Moraes came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Clube Sporting Navuo's Celso Vander. But to his dismay, Celso Vander quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. There was no doubt that Clube Sporting Navuo were the better team. Clube Sporting Navuo's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
