Clube União Popular's Rodrigo Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilmar Vieira in the 3rd minute of play. Rodrigo Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Javier Abalos, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. In the 9th match minute, Clube União Popular was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geovanni Ceresso to maneuver through the defense. In the 12th minute, Carlos Fernando Siqueira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Araçá F. C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jerônimo Fantini during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 16th minute Nilmar Vieira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodrigo Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodrigo Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Javier Abalos, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Frederico de Moraes hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After 27 played minutes Clube União Popular got a freekick which was hit by André de Mendonça. Rodrigo Amorim didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joélson de Sousa went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 32 minutes into the game, Araçá F. C.'s Nilmar Vieira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rodrigo Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. After having played for 36 minutes, Yngve Kristiansson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clube União Popular's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yngve Kristiansson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 38th minute, Nilmar Vieira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rodrigo Amorim was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. After some careless play in the Clube União Popular defense, Nilmar Vieira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rodrigo Amorim. The Clube União Popular fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rodrigo Amorim should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jerônimo Fantini stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rodrigo Amorim made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nilmar Vieira in the 53rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Frederico de Moraes during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nilmar Vieira in the 56th minute of play forced Clube União Popular's goalkeeper Rodrigo Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After taking down the ball on Clube União Popular's corner Yngve Kristiansson fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jefferson de Moraes quite easily take care of the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Joélson de Sousa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Rodrigo Amorim, 0-6. After a defensive mix-up in Araçá F. C.'s zone, Jerônimo Fantini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jefferson de Moraes came out of the goal and Jerônimo Fantini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 68 minutes into the match, Nilmar Vieira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rodrigo Amorim. Clube União Popular's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nilmar Vieira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Joélson de Sousa took a quick shot and it went in 0-8 without a chance for Rodrigo Amorim to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Araçá F. C. booed when Clube União Popular was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Franklin Hermes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joélson de Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulo José de Andrade took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rodrigo Amorim. Rodrigo Amorim dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-9. In the 91st minute of the match Araçá F. C. got a corner. Clube União Popular's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. João Breckenfeld ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Araçá F. C.'s João Breckenfeld to fire away a dangerous shot which Rodrigo Amorim despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With a little luck, Clube União Popular's Rodrigo Amorim got control of the ball when Nilmar Vieira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Araçá F. C.'s Jefferson de Moraes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerônimo Fantini in the 96th minute of play. Araçá F. C. played a much better game than Clube União Popular and deserved their victory. The Clube União Popular players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
