After a defensive mix-up in Botinho FC's zone, Jaroslaw Niezgoda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flávio Galvão came out of the goal and Jaroslaw Niezgoda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cesar Peyo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorival Lima in the 6th minute of play. Botinho FC's Flávio Galvão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Botinho FC from getting a goal against them. In the 13th minute João Paulo Ribeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesar Peyo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Justino Loramendis short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Flávio Galvão to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Compostela FSCMZ's Robert Kornatowski got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 20th minute, Justino Loramendi reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Flávio Galvão. The goal made the score 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, João Paulo Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Botinho FC's supporters rose to their feet, but João Paulo Ribeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cesar Peyo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorival Lima in the 30th minute of play forced Compostela FSCMZ's goalkeeper Cesar Peyo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute Chicão Cerezo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flávio Galvão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Jaroslaw Niezgoda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 37 minutes into the match, Compostela FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Sandro Negri came free, but Cesar Peyo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cesar Peyo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Paulo Ribeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Justino Loramendi's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Flávio Galvão firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 46 minutes, Justino Loramendi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Compostela FSCMZ and the Botinho FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Jaroslaw Niezgoda made the kick off in the second half. In the 50th minute, Rodrigo Seco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Flávio Galvão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chicão Cerezo in the 53rd minute of play. 54 minutes into the game, Botinho FC's João Paulo Ribeiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cesar Peyo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Flávio Galvão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chicão Cerezo, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. When Dorival Lima came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Botinho FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dorival Lima couldn't finish the play. After 67 played minutes Compostela FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Rodrigo Seco. The supporters of Compostela FSCMZ booed when Botinho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bar Beiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Compostela FSCMZ's Naldo Figueiredo was substituted for Robert Kornatowski. A collision led to Botinho FC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Bar Beiro hit a great ball. Botinho FC's Flávio Galvão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chicão Cerezo in the 72nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Compostela FSCMZ's Dragoş Ţiţeica got a free kick in the 73rd minute. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, João Paulo Ribeiro took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Cesar Peyo to make any attempt to save it. In the 78th minute Sandro Negri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesar Peyo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Botinho FC's Flávio Galvão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaroslaw Niezgoda in the 80th minute of play. Compostela FSCMZ's Boruc Poling was substituted for Chicão Cerezo. Compostela FSCMZ made a substitution. Jefferson Sousa replaced Dragoş Ţiţeica. Flávio Galvão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Justino Loramendi in the 93rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaroslaw Niezgoda in the 95th minute of play forced Botinho FC's goalkeeper Flávio Galvão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Botinho FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
