João Paulo Peres's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Claudinho Arruda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 31 minutes, Claudinho Arruda successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when João Paulo Peres got free with Claudinho Arruda in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tiago Gabriel de Souza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
