Ovidio Raymundo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Alvin Arthur made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benjamim Trancoso during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 44 played minutes XV de Indaial got a freekick which was hit by Benjamim Trancoso. In the 46th minute of the match Alan Franco sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Osmar Antunes skillfully saved the ball. After 47 played minutes XV de Indaial got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Linares. Osmar Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucjan Skwira in the 49th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ovidio Raymundo was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, João Paulo Peres notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of XV de Indaial's Osmar Antunes.
